ITS will participate in the soundproofing and depollution of the exhaust of 7 generator sets (gensets), with a unit power of 3.5 MW installed in a data center in Western Europe.

The targeted performances are as follows:

  • a sound pressure level at 1 m limited to a maximum value of 85 dB(A)
  • NOx emissions reduced to a maximum value of 0.5 mg/Nm3

They will be obtained by installation, in the form of a multifunctional skid, of:

  • an exhaust silencer (the metal parts will be made of stainless steel) with a reactive (upstream) stage i.e. for which noise attenuation will be based on changes in section (by means of tubes connecting expansion chambers) and a dissipative downstream stage i.e. with a porous sound-absorbing filling (cf. information on the page Exhaust silencer for generator sets)
    )
  • a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) device: the molecules of nitrogen oxides NOx will be combined, in a reactor with cassettes made of precious metal, with ammonia (NH3) as present in an aqueous solution of urea (CO(NH2)2) and transformed, by chemical reaction, into nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O), with automatic dosage control (cf. information on the page Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) device - catalytic converter)

The assembly will be designed to respect the requirement of total pressure loss conditioning the proper functioning of the engine, and manufactured according to the highest quality standards.

This soundproofing and depollution equipment for the exhaust of generator sets (gensets), will allow decentralized energy production, just a few meters from offices whose occupants will be protected from any nuisance.
