Many sectors of activity (in particular in relation to advanced technologies) require test stations for Research & Development (R&D) in acoustics that must adapt to space constraints, in particular for companies which are evolving a lot, for which re-arrangement projects linked to variations in capacity or organization are not unusual.

Such means of testing must then be capable of being disassembled, transported and re-installed, in some cases: on the same industrial site, but in another location, in other cases: on another site (if so then making necessary a carriage with a truck).

Of course, the ability for an acoustic measurement room (e.g. an anechoic chamber) to be able to accommodate different site constraints (sometimes difficult to anticipate precisely when a project originally designed for a given environment is born) requires sufficient performance of the partitions (walls, floor, roof) in terms of limitation of the transmission of airborne noise namely if the environment chosen for the installation is not very calm (e.g. due to noise emissions related to the other activities of the site, due to noise in the neighborhood), but this also requires an antivibration suspension capable of filtering vibrations which are sometimes important (e.g. generated by the rest of the industrial activity of the site or by road or railway infrastructures).

Construction systems that are sufficiently versatile in the field of industrial soundproofing are thus required in such a perspective of flexibility: they must be designed, manufactured and installed with the utmost care.

ITS participated in the relocation of an anechoic chamber in the region of Nice (France, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Alpes Maritimes county).

The outer envelope consisting of metallic acoustic insulation panels and of an inner absorbent lining installed on the 4 vertical faces of the room, as well as under the ceiling and on the floor (with a special flooring, decoupled from the ground) have been carefully dismantled by specialized technicians to be fully reused.

Their modular and robust design was precisely envisaged for making possible such an operation as well as an easy reassembly to allow this measurements room with high-end performance to satisfy other acousticians elsewhere, still for a long time.
